11/20/11

Hello, all!
What a wonderful Sunday was today! During singing time Emily and Ben got to be Sister Hensch's helpers. They were holding pictures of the new song and tried to sing it too. Eli chose a song "Praise to the man" and sang it very well. He was also singing "I'd love to see the temple" both verses!!! During the class time we had a little trouble with walking reverently, so we had to practice it twice. In class we learned that we can be honest. I told them the story about lie monster, so if your children ask if the lie monster appears each time they lie, don't be surprised :) John had a good time playing musical chairs with us and drawing the bunny. We missed Taygan a lot! Hope he feels better and comes to class next week.
Here are some pictures: Our honest and true stripling warriors
Eli just finished singing "Praise to the man"

Adjusting the headband for John and talking to someone else at the same time:)

Watching "Honest woodcutter". we had a little fight at the end because the laptop was to small for the three heads :(

Thank you, Sister Stewart for providing snack today. Next week Brother Burr agreed to do it. Thank you very much. See you all next week.

11/13/11

Hello, all.
We had a pretty good day, a bit challenging at times. During the sharing time Eli had an opportunity to get an apple out of a bag for an apple pie and got to choose a son - "Follow the Prophet." Emily also got to choose a song - "Praise to the Man." Ben, Emily and John were examples of reverence today. Taygan had a great discussion during the sharing time on how to be reverent in church. It was a little hard for us today to keep them seated and listen to the teacher during our class, but during the activity - coloring glasses and cutting them out - they all were very good. John was talking very well today. He said "Hi, Emily" when we didn't even expect it. He was also role playing with a smiley face on his sticker.
Keep up the good job, guys, and don't forget to be good examples to others :)

P.S.: I talked to some of you today. It seems like everyone is okay with taking turns bringing snacks to class. So next week Sister Stewart will do it, and we will go from there. Also, nobody minds us taking pictures  during the class time and posting them here, so we will start doing it next week.
If you have any questions or concerns, please, don't hesitate to contact us through this blog or phone.

Tips on how to post a comment - you probably need to sign up with your gmail account, and then it will let you do it. Good luck!!!

Have a great week!!!

Weeks 10/23/11 and 11/06/11

Hello, dear Sunbeams and your families!
We have had two great weeks! I'm sorry for not posting the information about the class on 10/23/11. Our Sunbeams did a wonderful job singing in the Sacrament meeting! YOU WERE AWESOME!!! We also had a fun class when we learned how to love others. We built a tower from blocks and showed an amazing teamwork. Good job, guys!
Today we've learned that we need to love animals and take good care of them. Then they will be happy and smiling. :) All the children were very reverent during the class, walked from the big classroom to our classroom folding their hands. Taygan was a great line leader, Emily did very well on her talk, prayer in the class, and she was a good snack leader as well. Ben did great on his talk, had a very good prayer in class, and was a wonderful reverence leader. John Eian was engaged in class as well and colored the bunny very nicely. He also said "Hello" and "How are you" to everyone. We missed Eli very much. We hope he is doing great and looking forward seeing him next week.

Dear parents, Sister Merrell and I, Sister Lopez, wanted to ask you if you would agree to take turns bringing snacks to class. We can post the schedule here on the blog, so it will be more convenient for all of us. Also we would like to take pictures during the class and post them here so you all can see how the kids are doing. Are you comfortable with that idea? Please, post your comments.
